The Chicago Community Foundation/Chicagoland Workforce Funder Alliance
CWFA has been asked by the Governor’s Office of the State of Illinois to assist them in executing a Commission which will re-imagine the State’s workforce development system. The Funder Alliance will provide this support by standing up a facilitation team to staff the Governor's Office leadership. The Commission will center equity throughout its approach and in its deliverables. One critical way it will center equity is by incorporating the principles of human-centered design. This application is specifically to enable the facilitation team to have the required expertise and experience in human-centered design.

CONNECTIONS FOR THE HOMELESS INC
Connections is among the first organizations across the nation to embark on a municipal zoning review with a focus on advancing equity and home affordability. We are partnering with ZoneCo, an equity-focused zoning consultancy, to conduct a review of the City of Evanston’s zoning regulations. We will identify where zoning may perpetuate inequities, racial and ethnic wealth gaps, and higher housing prices that force people, especially BIPOC, to leave their neighborhoods. After the review, Connections’ advocacy team will collect community feedback and combine it with the assessment to create a report for publication. This report will be an essential tool to propose and advocate for solutions to address zoning issues that perpetuate inequity.
