Jean Westrick is director of civic engagement and partnerships at The Chicago Community Trust. Westrick brings more than 15 years of nonprofit and program management experience to the Trust, specializing in developing, implementing and managing large-scale special civic engagement initiatives.
Prior to joining the Trust, she served as the associate director for the 100Kin10 STEM Project at the University of Chicago, a national network spearheaded by the Carnegie Corporation to answer President Obama’s call to recruit, retain and support the next generation of excellent STEM teachers. She has worked at Chicago Public Schools, where she developed and managed informal and enrichment opportunities for thousands of students and teachers, and at Science Chicago—a $5 million, one-year public awareness campaign to promote the importance of science through the Chicagoland region. Westrick also spent six years supporting grant making efforts and communications at the Joyce Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and a Master of Science from DePaul University.
