Sarah Bertman (she/her) is an impact coordinator for the Household Wealth team at The Chicago Community Trust.
In this role she supports the administrative, collaborative and strategic work of the broad Household Wealth portfolio including increasing homeownership and home equity, income growth and small business support.
Sarah is experienced in direct service community work and nonprofit administration. Prior to moving to Chicago for her graduate studies, Sarah worked as a Bilingual Victim Advocate for the YWCA of Kalamazoo and previously as a Program Coordinator for San Diego Habitat for Humanity, where she coordinated county-wide efforts to preserve affordable housing stock for low-income homeowners.
Sarah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where she earned a BA in Social Theory & Practice and Latin American & Caribbean Studies. She is currently working toward a dual master’s degree in Social Work and Social Sector Leadership & Nonprofit Management at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice.
