Matt Shomo (he/him) is the program manager for Homeownership & Home Equity at The Chicago Community Trust.
He manages the Trust’s homeownership portfolio by supporting organizations focused on affordable lending practices, home repair programs, and policy challenges such as the appraisal gap.
Matt is experienced with community engagement work in the public, nonprofit, and social sectors. Prior to moving to Chicago for his graduate studies, Matt worked as a Program Assistant with the Summit County Land Bank – a housing nonprofit in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
Matt completed his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, where he earned a BA in Public Affairs from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. He also holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
