Mandy Burrell is communications manager for We Rise Together: For an Equitable & Just Recovery.
We Rise Together is a coalition of public and private funders and communities accelerating equity in the Chicago region’s economic recovery so that everyone can achieve their full potential.
Mandy manages external communications for the initiative. Previously, she was an independent consultant providing strategic communications and marketing services to nonprofit organizations. She also worked as communications senior for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and as communications director for the Metropolitan Planning Council.
In these various roles, she has helped launch and implement long-range regional plans, increase public education funding, attract new development to communities, and launch Chicago’s only national park, Pullman National Monument.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
