Julie Shanahan is grants manager for The Chicago Community Trust.
She brings 10 years of nonprofit and grant making experience to her role managing grant making processes for the Trust’s competitive grant programs.
Before joining the Trust, Shanahan held the role of associate program officer and grants manager at the Joyce and Irving Goldman Family Foundation in New York City, where she managed grants administration and advised the family’s next generation on their grant making strategy.
Prior to her career in philanthropy, Shanahan worked in fundraising, grant writing, and special event production for The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware.
Shanahan holds a B.A. in English from George Washington University and a M.A. in American Studies from the University of Iowa.
