Chicago City Council Latino Caucus Foundation
In Chicago, nearly half of CPS students are Latino, nearly 1 in 3 babies born in Chicago are Latino. Despite this, we’re disproportionately impacted by the broken structures that surround us and Latino representation is far too low across the board. Therefore, the Chicago City Council Latino Caucus founded the Chicago City Council Latino Caucus Foundation (“CLCF”) as an entity to empower and prepare the next generation of Latino leaders. CLCF was created to empower entry-level to C-Suite Latino talent to refuse to be overlooked as they offer their expertise, cultural competency, and powerful experience to the fabric of Chicago’s workforce. CLCF achieves this mission through a distinct and impactful program: the CLCF Leadership Academy.

Reader Institute for Community Journalism Inc
The Chicago Reader respectfully requests $75,000 in support of our mission to create and curate political and cultural coverage by and for Chicago, including highlighting underrepresented communities and stories. As the first free weekly newspaper in the U.S. and now a nonprofit organization, we aim to be a model for independent nonprofit media in our coverage, collaboration, corporate responsibility, and community partnership. Our editorial strategy is focused on community-driven journalism through which we engage in dialogue with communities to assess their needs and respond appropriately, and we support the local media ecosystem through our project, the Chicago Independent Media Alliance (CIMA).

Gage Park Latinx Council
The Gage Park Latinx Council (GPLXC) was founded in 2018 by life long community residents of Gage Park with first hand experiences of the issues affecting our community. In a few short years we have been able to establish the largest presence in the neighborhood and have quickly become an organization with region wide impact. GPLXC is a Queer, DACA, Latinx led grassroots organization, committed to creating a strong sense of community and identity, in Gage Park, through art, popular education, and direct actions grounded in social justice and mutual aid. We operate a community cultural center that serves as a hub for our organizing and are looking for funding to help build our capacity by securing full time staff.

Jane Addams Resource Corporation
The Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC) humbly requests $155,000 from Bridges to Brighter Futures to fund our supportive services and graduate supports in our Careers in Manufacturing Programs. JARC provides free job training in manufacturing careers that provide sustainable wages, such as welding, CNC machine operation, and more. JARC also provides wrap-around services for a holistic approach to combating poverty. These services continue after graduation with JARC's open door policy: a graduate is welcome to reach out to us no matter how long ago they last set foot in our training center.
