For more than 100 years, The Chicago Community Trust has convened, supported, funded, and accelerated the work of community members and changemakers committed to strengthening the Chicago region. From building up our civic infrastructure to spearheading our response to the Great Recession, the Trust has brought our community together to face pressing challenges and seize our greatest opportunities.     BGCC's 75th Annual Summer Ball, the Diamond Ball, will be at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and honors the generations of Woman's Board members who have made an impact on the youth of Chicago.

    The Chicago Tool Library

    Awarded: Awarded Amount: $5,000

    The Chicago Tool Library is requesting $5,000 to support our mission of providing equitable access to tools, equipment, and information to allow all Chicagoans to learn, share, and create. In pursuit of this mission, we provide programs for: individual Chicagoans to borrow tools via sliding-scale memberships; community groups to borrow tools via low-cost memberships; free seed distribution to the community; and Repair Fairs which are community events where community members can have their broken and beloved items repaired for free. This funding will support our amazing staff who run these programs and ensure our programs are sustainable and that the Chicago Tool Library is a stable and desirable workplace.
