FUTURE TIES NFP
Future Ties will continue to provide safe space opportunities for the youth during the gap in service from the Chicago Park District until youth return back to school. Since the first gap activation in programs, Future Ties has continued to provide a safe space for the youth. We had a teen kick back that was very successful and well attended by the youth and we have every Friday famly movie night that is also very well attended. Our plan is to continue to offer these opportunities throughout the summer that includes the gap. We are planning another kick back with the youth for the Labor Day weekend. We have Friday Family Movie nights on our calendar through the Labor Day weekend. This funding will definitely help us with the supplies/food we need to continue to support the youth and their families during this time.

Rose of Light MBC
Camp 1302 is seeking funding to extend our day camp, which currently concludes on August 4th. We aim to bridge the gap between the end of the Chicago Park District's summer programming and the start of the Chicago Public School (CPS) year, from August 6th to August 21st. The allocated funds will be utilized to extend the employment of our summer workers and recruit additional instructors. This will enable us to maintain diverse activities catering to all participants, ensuring our programming remains dynamic and engaging.

Love To Serve is requesting gap funding between August 6, 2023 and August 21, 2023 and Labor Day weekend. This funding support will allow us to continue providing weekly programming in a safe space for our youth in West Pullman at the Kroc Community Center.

Think Outside Da Block
Think Outside da Block (TODB) is a reputable organization established in the Greater Englewood community. We engage with nearly 3,000 children, youth and families each year, from over 26 zip codes across the Chicagoland area. TODB is proposing to host four events, two events during the Labor Day weekend and two events between August 6th and August 19th. During the Labor Day weekend TODB’s two Safe and Peaceful youth focused events will be our annual Ball In Peace softball game on Saturday, Saturday will include a block party style kickback event for youth 12-24 in the Chicago Lawn community and Sunday will include a block party style kickback event for youth 12-24 in the Greater Englewood community. Between August 6th and August 19th TODB will host two additional events in the Greater Englewood community including: community-wide back to school event on August 12th, Safe Spaces Mothership event on August 11th at Hamilton Park .In addition to the four events, TODB will host 20 youth ages 13-24 20 hours per week covering Financial literacy, trauma awareness, Drug Free America along with event planning and execution. Think Outside Da Block has adequate staff and has completed the planning. Safe and Peaceful funds will be used to provide youth stipends, purchase food, increase marketing, rent/purchase equipment, games, prizes, disc jockey, security, permits, porta-potty, additional staff time etc

Southside Together Organizing for Power
STOP will host a Back to School Block Party for Hyde Park Academy Families and a series of 4 planning meetings and trainings with Hyde Park Academy students to prepare and support then in running a restorative justice community building circle at the Block Party. We will engage 15 Hyde Park Academy students who are participants in our Summer Youth Program in the planning and execution of the restorative justice circle and Block Party. In addition to the restorative justice community building circle, the event will include face painting, bouncy house, school supplies, music, basketball tournaments, and more. Funds will support food for meetings and the event, stipends for youth to participate in planning meetings and for parents who attend the event, as well as rental of equipment.

Home for Good Inc
Our Organization plans to use the requested funds to provide a Basketball program 4 days a week during the August gap time, August 6-21 (in addition to our already running bi-monthly Basketball games). Our staff will identify and recruit 16-20 youth and assist them with travel back and forth to the park, gym, or YMCA where they will engage in team-on-team Basketball games for 2.5 hours that will encourage positive proactive community connectedness. We will also have a Labor Day “Bike Ride for Peace” Event. During Labor Day weekend, we will gather 21-25 youth, provide them all with new bikes and peddle down Lake Shore Drive. Starting the Day with Breakfast at our Hub in Woodlawn. We will engage in positive, uplifting conversation then head to Lakefront. As we ride down the Lakefront, we will make frequent stops to teach the youth about moments in time that shaped our past such as the event at 29th street beach during the 1919 Race Riots. We aim to provide a safe space for the youth that day and create a sense of community as they learn about their past while making connections with one another.

Neighborhoods Uniting Kids in Excellence Inc
Our organization Neighborhoods Uniting Kids in Excellence will engage the same youth group we've been working with over the summer three days a week to fulfill the grant requirements.We've expanded our space and have added more staff. We will continue to work our program Bridging the Gap between the Community and Police through N.U.K.I.E and operate three days a week for the Labor Day plus August gap. We looking to get funding to support our program for the Labor Day plus August gap. Will had continually incorporate free hair cuts for the youth and along with face painting.

Bullying Prevention and Awareness 365
BPA365 partners with New Hope Christian M.B.C. to provide anti-bullying training and meals for 40 youth (ages 14-18) community workers during the 1-week gap. BPA365 is partnering with Global Girls for ten youths (ages 12-17) to receive anti-bullying and video training to produce an intergenerational movie. BPA365 supports a "Back to School" event by donating school supplies and providing anti-bullying materials on Saturday, August 26th, from 10 AM to 3 PM for 100 youth (ages 5-18)
