54 & 5500 West Block of Cortez
Each activity would be for 30 to 40 participants. My organization is in the middle of the high risk Austin Community. My home and yard have become a refuge for neighborhood kids. Parents allow their children to come and play basket on the half court, play video games, and play one the swing set. Children from Cortez, Central, Thomas, and Pine meet to watch movies and roast marshmallows in a safe place.

1000 and 1100 Monticello Block Club
Neighborhood Fun for ALL. The 1000 and 1100 blocks of N Monticello are excited to present Neighborhood Fun for All on Saturday, June 10 and Saturday, June 24. We are kicking off the summer by bringing back community, fun, food and laughter for our neighbors of all ages. We will begin by hosting a Block Club Party on Saturday, June 10th, beginning at 12pm complete with a gaming truck, bouncy house, DJ, food trucks, cotton candy and piñatas! Once the sun goes down, we will transition the day into a family movie night in the garden. During movie night, our neighbors can sit with their kids and watch a family friendly movie under the stars. On Saturday, June 24, we will continue with the Neighborhood Fun by hosting a Creative Arts event with our youth. We will have face painting, arts and crafts for the younger kids and spoken word, singing and dancing contests for the older kids in the neighborhood. Grant dollars received will support food, DJ, porta potty, stage, table and chair rentals, gaming truck, bouncy house, projector and movie screen, popcorn machine, and paint.

Men Making A Difference
Men Making a Difference (MMAD) will host a June youth Breakfast series. Each Saturday morning in the month of June from 9:00 am- 1:00 pm, we will bring together the youth of North Lawndale and their families for a free breakfast cooked by local community members with food obtained from community businesses. After breakfast and fellowship, we will engage youth in peace circles. The peacemaking circle is a process that will bring together the youth of our community to engage in conflict resolution, healing, support, decision making and other activities in which honest communications, relationship development, and community building are centered. After peace circles, leftovers will be given out, to provide further sustenance to youth and their family after the event.

PAINT THE HOOD ORANGE will be hosting our summer block parties and on June 10th and June 17th we will be hosting block parties in Auburn Gresham and the Near North Side at Seward Park and would like to have this grant in order to support those communities.and provide activities for the young people such as double dutch, art and basketball. This grant will help us in providing on site activities for the kids and create an opportunity for them to have a true SUMMERTIME CHI filled with real opportunities to learn and enjoy their communities.
