Our plan is to expand our existing programming for both Memorial Day and our summer activities that were planned for June this summer. We will add more fun-filled activities to our already established Beautify Lafollette held on May 28th we will expand the hours of the event and add more family friendly games, face painting, peace circles and increasing our annual paint in the park activity. We also plan to move up our Rites of Passage virtual summer programming to include the days between CPS last day of School and the Chicago Park District summer activities. We will also extend our Afterschool programming to cover the dates between the gap. Finally, we will begin our weekly interactions of Community, Connections and Culture hosted each Thursday night in the park. We will utilize the funds to increase our reach to more youth of all ages, purchase more food, and family fun games. Funds will also be used to provide stipends and increase the capacity for staffing and the cost for bouncy house rental, DJ rental, truck rental and other items to support all of our planned activities.

Grants funds will be used to amplify our current after-school programming and expand it to young people not traditionally afforded this opportunity. As we expand the game of chess throughout Chicago, we would love for every member of our club to own chess sets, chess clocks, chess notation, and tactical training books so they can share their love of the game with family members and those in their communities. We also want to be able to pay for our stormers United States Chess Federation Membership fees, as well as tournament registration fees. Additionally, ASAC looks forward to growing our workforce development program where we will train highschool teens to be mentors and paid coaches for our K-8 students.

Simply Destinee was founded by a brother/sister duo who after the loss of a loved one to suicide realized many of the needs of the youth in our community. Our primary focus is to inspire students to take charge of their lives and use proactive tools to help with mental health challenges. Simply Destinee's programs focuses on helping young people develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in school, the workplace, and life. It's primary focus is teach students the tips and tricks to overcome everyday challenge. This may includes mentorship and guidance to help young people set and achieve goals, building relationships with local businesses to provide job shadowing, community service, college readiness and workforce development opportunities. Seeds offers workshops to develop these skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, and financial literacy. These workshops are aside from the peer mentoring and access to using the arts as a tool to showcase their expression in a positive light. Funds requested to support program development, hiring staff and mentors, providing materials and resources, and covering operating expenses. By investing in youth programs, Simply Destinee has been able to make a significant impact on the lives of young people, helping them to realize their potential and achieve their goals.

We plan to continue with our Community Works Crime Prevention Program to include Educational/Cultural Enrichment Field Trips. To expand our program, we have the staff to continue our Community Works Crime Prevention. We have the capacity and are willing to move on with our plans through Memorial Day weekend and/or the gap time between CPS ending and the Park District beginning (June 6-26). We have the staff capacity and space to do so and look forward to expanding our days of training and activities from three to five days a week to impact more youth lives during the Memorial Day weekend and during the month of June leading up to June 26, 2023. We plan to use the funds for Personnel/Staffing and Non-Personnel Expenses.
