Centennial Reunion Sparkles with a Century of Community Champions

On June 9, the Great Hall of Union Station swirled with donors, nonprofit partners, and former and current staff—all united by their commitment to the mission of The Chicago Community Trust.

The Trust is dedicating its Centennial year (May 2015 to May 2016) to celebrating the contributions of every individual who helps make our region more compassionate. This evening’s party was just one moment to gather together in celebration, reflecting how much more vibrant and powerful we are when we unite together.

Executive Committee chair Frank Clark reflected on the inspiring work he has been honored to observe in action during his tenure with the Trust, before leading a champagne toast to the spirit of philanthropy.

Then award-winning Indo-Afro-Caribbean ensemble Funkadesi took the stage, and got guests of all ages dancing.

Throughout it all, the spirit of optimism was made visible in a grove of shimmering “wishing trees.” This installation by Luft invited guests to write their wishes for our community on scrolls of canvas, which were transformed into leaves that brought the trees to life with a collective vision of hope.
