Chicago Learning Exchange
Creating a Connected Community where All Learning Counts
The Hive Chicago Fund for Connected Learning and the Hive Chicago Learning Network are now The Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX). The mission of CLX is to inspire and support innovation that equips digital-age learners and leaders to close Chicago’s opportunity gap.
Connected learning is an approach that weaves together students’ personal interests, the support of friends and adult mentors, and academic or career relevance. To advance connected learning in our community, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation established Hive Chicago—a professional network of local organizations supporting thousands of young learners—as well as the Chicago City of Learning, which uses digital tools to expand learning beyond schools and forge alternative pathways to career and college success. Housed at the Trust, The Chicago Hive Fund for Connected Learning provided the funding to mobilize this important work across Chicago.
