One of the fastest growing counties in the U.S., Will County overcame significant industrial job losses in the late 20th century with the help of a strong business sector, thriving real estate market, and vibrant civic culture. Despite these successes, the county faces ongoing challenges, including providing educational, employment and housing opportunities and removing barriers to access to quality health care, tranportation and other resources for all residents.
To engage the community in finding solutions to these challenges, community leaders, in partnership with The Chicago Community Trust launched The Will County Community Foundation in 2006. The Foundation belongs to the entire community, bringing people together to provide support to not-for-profit organizations, and to promote philanthropy as a way to create lasting change.
